restyleNow for sale at our salon are these beautiful handcrafted bracelets made by women in developing countries through a great company called Restyle. The idea of this company began in 1993 when Evan Goldsmith saw the opportunity to help out women while he was working with a local non-profit group in the Indian Himalayas. He observed artisan women making beautifully handcrafted items with no access to sustainable markets to sell their work. Upon return to the United States, Evan created his Fair Trade company which would provide retail and e-commerce opportunities for these women. ReStyle now works with artisan partners in Colombia, El Salvador and India and is exploring new relationships with artisan groups around the globe. The jewelry is handcrafted from recycled materials like tire tubes, orange peels and eco leather. Also used are beautiful seeds from the South American rainforest like Tagua, Acai and Chirilla. These products encourage rainforest preservation and recycling efforts. The best part is that economic opportunity is created for disadvantaged women and their families. Who knew being stylish could feel so good.
