Observing hair as of late, you may have noticed that rainbow colors have made a big splash into summer. To stay on trend, we hosted Top Aveda artists Alberto Rossell-Davis and Susan Ford at our salon to teach us their combo class Geo Prisms. In this class, we learned how to use Aveda Hair Color to create any shade of the rainbow and tips and tricks to make the color last longer in the hair and pop out with haircutting techniques. Most people think of Aveda hair color as way too natural for bright fun colors, but think again. With Aveda’s hair-color line, we can create any color you can dream up! To achieve rainbow colors, it is best to have lighter hair or pre-lighten your hair first. Once you have lightened hair, we can add fun colors in a bold and vivid, or soft and subtle way with different placements. Some people shy away from rainbow colors with fear of looking too edgy at work, but peekaboo color is a way to add just a hint of fun without going overboard. This kind of color has a tendency to fade quicker than other colors, so it is best that you shampoo less, use a color protective shampoo, and a heat protectant when styling to keep the hair and color looking fresh. If you’ve been dreaming of mermaid hair, blue hair, hair with pink bubble gum ends etc. we are ready and excited to make your dreams come true. What color will you try next?
